If you're new to Calvary, we want to ensure that your time with us is as enjoyable as it should be. You may have no questions at all about what to expect at church or you may have many. We've anticipated a few here and are happy to answer any others you may have. Please feel free to contact us using the form on the contact page if you do not find the information you are looking for, or if you would like to talk to someone. What should I expect on a Sunday?

As you arrive at either entrance to Calvary Christian Church, one or two people from the church will be available to greet you as you come in and will help you to find where to go. You will receive a bulletin with the latest news from all around the church. Additionally we have our quarterly Calvary Life magazine which gives you an inside look at Calvary with more information about the church and it's many ministries.
Our Sunday morning services start at 8:30am and 10am, and if you arrive early for the 8:30am service we'll have plenty of coffee, tea and early morning snacks to get your day started off right. We also have a 9:45am service completely in Mandarin.

Our worship is lively, but informal with an opportunity every week for you to receive prayer from one of our team members. One of our pastors will share a message which is relevant, inspiring and creative as we are challenged to put God's Word into action within our lives and families. Our service will finish with an opportunity to have some time to connect with others over a fresh cup of coffee and a sweet treat. Nobody is in a rush to leave!
People sometimes ask what they should wear when coming to be part of church on a Sunday, and we usually say to come as you feel comfortable. Most people dress casually, however, with so many people from different backgrounds we have a wide range of styles and tastes.
What about my kid's?
SUNDAYS
Our BIG Time Kid's Ministry is designed for children from 0 through grade 5.
We have a fully equipped and supervised Nursery facility which is suitable for children aged 0 - 24 months.
Our toddlers class is for age 2, and our Preschool (which operates as a licensed preschool Monday to Friday) covers ages 3-5.
Elementary school aged children are divided up into two groups:
Grades K-2 and 3-5
In our 8:30am service families have the opportunity to have their elementary school aged children join them for music and prayer before being dismissed to their own program. (Nursery-Preschool children can be checked in prior to the start of the service)
MID-WEEK
From September through April kids grades K-5 can register to be a part of our mid-week programs. We have two mid-week programs designed for grade K-3 and grades 4-5. These programs run on Wednesday nights from 7pm-8:30pm.
I'm not sure I'm ready for church yet.
We understand that for some, church can be a bit of an unknown sometimes causing a certain measure of apprehension or even fear. Jesus lived the most amazing life, and his message is powerful, practical and revolutionary, yet this image of the church is not always portrayed in the media today. Church for us is a getting together of people who are being changed day by day by following Jesus. We're far from perfect, completely individual and amazingly diverse. Sometimes life is messy, often chaotic, but as we journey together we find ourselves as part of a community of faith where we find encouragement, hope, strength and life. If you are on a journey towards faith, whatever stage you are at there is space for you to do that at your own pace here at Calvary.
I'd like someone to pray for me.
Again and again, we've found that God not only exists but meets us where we are as we come to him. We've had the privilege of praying with hundreds of people and seeing some amazing answers to prayer as God changes our situation. We'd love to pray with you if you would like us to. Please let us know by getting in touch with us or by coming along and responding during one of our Sunday morning prayer time opportunities that are given during the services.
How do I get there, and where do we park?
More information is available on the Contact Us page and a detailed map is provided. There is usually plenty of parking available on a Sunday morning in the lot that surrounds the church. Overflow parking is also available during special events or peak hours on the street and the front and rear of the church.
What else is going on during the week?
There are many different activities taking place during the week at Calvary for everyone and the details of many of these are available on this site or in our Calvary Life quarterly magazine which are free and can be picked up at the Info Kiosk on Sunday. However, we are always open for new creative ideas, inspiration and people to help us to fulfil our mission and vision. If you are not part of a church already we'd like to invite you to join us on a Sunday or at any of our activities.
